With Wings That Are Free

“Birds have wings; they’re free; they can fly where they want when they want. They have the kind of mobility many people envy.” ~Roger Tory Peterson

With Wings That Are Free

On our way out to the outback, we stopped at a local cafe in Manildra, NSW for an old-fashioned or traditional breakfast with coffee, toast, fried eggs and sausages. Taken last 31 July 2012 with Wendy.

A Speck in the Sky

“Don’t tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass.” ~Anton Chekhov

A Speck in the Sky

While the west proudly shows forth the sunset, the east brings its own glory far away up high in the sky; the moon at its speck like a dot on the horizon.

Same place at the outback, delightfully watching the sky after dinner. (31 July 2012).

Bare Tree

Trees are poems that earth writes upon the sky,
We fell them down and turn them into paper,
That we may record our emptiness.
~Kahlil Gibran

A bare tree in my yard.

Though bare, the tree looks majestic on a beautiful winter day like this. It is now seldom visited by our twittering friends. The sight is just as compelling as it looks. My photographic itch was at work, so here it goes.
